Summer, a young
guy (Keir Gilchrist) on home arrest for persecution a class fellow is under
attack by a mystic presence while his mother is on a business tour. This is the sophomore horror film from director Paul Solet, an Eli Roth protégé who made his first appearance with the 2009 vampire-baby film Grace.The cast features a number of talented actors you may recognize from the small screen, including Gilchrist, who previously starred on Showtime’s United States of Tara; Peter Stormare from Fargo (the original movie); Maestro Harrell from The Wire; Grace Phipps fromThe Vampire Diaries; and Stella Maeve from Chicago P.D.
Distributed by IFC Midnight, Dark Summer will be released in select theaters and on VOD January 9.
